You are entirely correct, of course, about the wolf's having been cried falsely in the past not meaning that the wolf hasn't arrived. Indeed, sometimes I wonder if looking at that history so much has not made me likely to err on the side of dismissing the event if, or when, it actually happens. And so I'm trying to keep an open mind about this. But it also seems to me that the argument against the new chatbots "changing everything" is the one that we need to hear more of now because so much of the discussion seems to be coming from people who do not remember those other claims, and who have no other critical perspective.
